(01) Brief

Three sports, no favourite.

Trifecta trains athletes across three sports and wanted an identity that did not pick one. The usual answer, a shield with three icons in it, was off the table. The mark had to work at the size of a sleeve badge and the size of a wall, and print in one colour on a jersey without losing anything.

(02) Approach

Three strokes that never close.

The mark is three strokes that meet without closing, which reads as motion before it reads as a number. It is drawn on a single stroke width so it survives embroidery, screen print and a favicon without being redrawn. The wordmark is set wide and heavy so it carries on a chest at distance, and the kit system uses the three strokes as a repeat, so a group photo reads as one team from across a field.

Colour was kept to black, white and one signal red. Sports brands drift towards gradients and chrome. This one needed to look the same in a sweaty gym as in a pitch deck.

(03) Outcome

Guidelines a kit supplier can follow.

The guidelines are short on purpose: a dozen pages, mostly pictures, that a supplier can follow without a call to us. The system has been applied across apparel, facility signage and social templates.
